Description

Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc.
(LASO) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides civil legal assistance to low-income individuals throughout Oklahoma.

LASO lawyers handle civil cases involving:

  • Consumer issues
  • Education issues
  • Family law issues
  • Domestic violence issues
  • Seniors' rights issues
  • Employment
  • Unemployment issues
  • Fair housing issues
  • Housing issues
  • Health issues
  • Public benefits issues
  • Mental health issues, and more.
  • Many LASO programs and services are only offered to those that meet their financial criteria.

Clients are financially qualified for their services during their confidential admission interviews.

The income is calculated on the basis of the applicant's gross household income and the number of persons in the household.

Non-exempt assets may also be considered to qualify applicants for their services.

However, there are many of their programming services that are not income-dependent.

Legal services that are not income sensitive are for people with AIDS, the elderly over 60 and victims of housing discrimination.
