Description

Pine Tree Legal Assistance is a non-profit organization in Maine dedicated to providing high-quality, free, civil legal aid to low-income people.

Their mission is to enforce state and federal laws affecting the poor and to remove systemic barriers to justice faced by poor mayors.

They are committed to ensuring that all major forces have access to justice.

Their services range from simple advice and straightforward services to negotiations and full representation in the most serious cases.

To complement their limited staff capacity, they also provide user-friendly explanations of the law and self-help tools, provide community and outreach education, and work with entities serving low-income people, including social service providers, members of the private bar and the courts.

According to federal rules, most services in Pineta are limited to people with a household income of 200% or less of the federal poverty guidelines (and less than 125% after deductions, such as housing costs).

Some of their program allow for higher income.

If you don't qualify for their help, they'll tell you right away.
