Description

Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) is the state's primary provider of civil legal aid and advocacy services.

Their mission is to ensure that the most vulnerable among us - low-income families, seniors, victims of domestic violence, the disabled - have an equal shot at justice, in the courtroom and in their communities.

They do not charge a fee for their services, but if they take your case you may have to pay certain court costs or other related expenses.

To get help from Legal Aid attorneys and staff you must generally meet certain eligibility requirements.

Generally speaking, you must be considered low-income OR a victim of domestic violence to qualify for help from their Civil Legal Aid Program.
