Description

The mission of the Legal Aid Society is to pursue justice for people in poverty.

They provide free legal services to the most disadvantaged in their community.

They fight on your behalf when your health, safety, and stability are unjustly threatened.

The first thing you should do is call the Legal Aid Society at (502) 584-1254 to see if they can help you.

Their services are free, but you must qualify first.

When you call their office, you will be asked questions about where you live, your income, and your legal problem.

If you qualify for their services, they will schedule an appointment for you with one of their attorneys or paralegals who will review the merits of your case.

Please keep in mind they are not able to help with criminal cases.

Their intake line is open during the following hours:

Monday:

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Tuesday:

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Wednesday:

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Thursday:

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Applicants may walk-in to our office Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM to complete a written application.

Because the demand for their services is high, their legal staff will not be able to meet with you on the same visit you complete the application.

Instead, they will accept your application, review it, and then call you back.
