Free legal aid

Qualified low-income people in Miami-Dade County may be eligible for legal assistance from referrals through the Something Back Pro Bono Project, which refers civil matters to a cadre of Dade Legal Aid staff attorneys and screen and Pro Bono attorneys and law firm volunteers.

To be eligible, a client must reside in Miami-Dade and their income cannot exceed 125-150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

If an organization's purpose is to serve eligible clients, or consists primarily of eligible clients, then the organization is eligible for free services, provided the project can find a pro Bono attorney to advise the organization.


Many of their lawyers are fluent in multiple languages, so Spanish & Creole speakers are encouraged to apply for assistance.

In order to ensure the availability of Dade Legal Aid's legal services and/or support services, they offer appropriate assistance and support services at no cost to deaf or hard-of-hearing clients and accompanying persons.

Qualification:

  • Please bring the relevant documents

  • Identification
  • Proof of income with you at their office for initial admission.


If you are qualified for assistance, you may be referred to a Pro Bono lawyer.

if you are unable to provide the required documentation or receipts and proof of income required, you may be rejected by the Pro Bono lawyer.


If you reside outside of Miami-Dade, contact your local legal assistance agency and request that they send you a referral to their office.
